"Happy to present our first release of 2020, a cassette demonstration for the relatively new Sydney band Pash.

Pash is Jemimah and Jackson. On these recordings Jon and Joel also lent their hands (bass & drums.) Live Peter and Joe have been a part of Pash. Cover art was designed by Joe Agius. A lot of J names,

Jackson and Jemimah wrote these songs while living together in 2019. The songs, and i guess Pash itself at this point, are lovey-dovey but a little bit melancholy.

I suggested that Pash makes crush-pop, unreciprocated-love-tracks, to which they agreed.

On this cassette, Pash give us two songs; Shoplifting and Double Date. The pair provide a nice introduction to the band's gentle bedroom pop. In the way that crushing always is, the songs feel caught between gushing and mumbling.

They could maybe be compared to Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Talulah Gosh or Ultra Material. All bands making similarly charming, shy guitar pop.

I think i'd compare Pash to the nice feeling of gossiping w ur friends on FaceTime - but maybe that's just me.
